Technology

Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools recognizes the benefits of technology in the classroom, and our responsibility to teach students responsible use of technology and social media.  We recently implemented 1:1 technology in all schools, for all student in grades K-12.  1:1 Technology is a term used when each student is issued a device to use during the school day.  Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools chose to use Chromebooks for the device due to the low cost of ownership, ease of use, and the various free tools provided by Google.

For students in grades K-5, the Chromebook will remain at school in a charging cart.  For students in grade 6-12, they will take the Chromebook home at the end of the day and bring it back for school, fully charged, the next day.  Parents are encouraged to purchase the optional Chromebook Protection Plan for $25, to cover a portion of the costs for any accidental breaks during the school year.  More information about the Chromebook Protection Plan is linked below.

Below are several links to documents and webpage to give you more information regarding our expectations for students and staff regarding technology.
